AITKEN, LAUREL - REGE DEGE DING (2LP) LP (12"/10" Album) · DYNAMITE! · 22/05/ · in REGGAE / DUB / SKA / ROCKSTEADY. Two LP's of early singles from 'The Godfather of Ska', Laurel Aitken. Born in Cuba of mixed Cuban and Jamaican descent, Aitken was cutting mento and boogie hits by the mid-'50s, including some of the earliest tracks ever produced by Island Records legend Chris .

But there's plenty of great music anyway, especially on "The Real Me," "The Punk Meets the Godfather," "I'm One," "Bell Boy," and "Love, Reign o'er Me." Some of Townshend 's most direct, heartfelt writing is contained here, and production-wise it's a tour de force, with some of the most imaginative use of synthesizers on a rock record.

first of all, the godfather is my favourite film and has in my opinion the best soundtrack ever so this was highly anticipated but it honestly goes beyond my expectations. i already knew the soundtrack but the vinyl itself really is a novelty like it has beautiful pictures on the inside cover of stills from the film and the vinyl quality is magificent as i always worry about the condition when /5(27).

The album was originally released as a two-LP set with a gatefold jacket and a booklet containing lyrics, a text version of the story, and photographs taken by Ethan Russell illustrating it. MCA Records re-released the album as a two-CD set in with the lyrics and text storyline on a thin fold-up sheet but none of the photographs.

Spoonie Gee was the nephew of veteran R&B producer Bobby Robinson and one of the earliest rap artists. He was known as the "love rapper," an image that was established by his first record, "Love Rap", released on his uncle's Enjoy label as the flip side of the Treacherous Three's "The New Rap Language".
